How to run multiple projects at the same time without collision

If you want to run multiple A/B tests that have the same KPI and are on the same audience, you need to set up collision prevention so these projects do not collide and therefor corrupt your data.

You need to do this before you start any of the projects. The first thing you need to do is set the traffic allocation for each project.

Symplify evaluates projects in creation date. So you need to set traffic allocation to lower than 100% (total) in the first project to be able to send some of the traffic to the other project. Notice that for the second project you want the total traffic allocation to be 100%, because you want 100% of the 50% the first project leave behind to be allocated to the second project.

In the example below we want to run two projects at the same time;

Project 1

Important: You must start with the project that was created first because the projects are evaluated on the created date.

First, open the editor for project 1.  Note! open the project that was created first. check this by seeing the created date.

Step 1

Then click on the Settings button. Choose Traffic allocation.

Step 2

Then set the traffic allocation for the variants and click save.

Example: If you wish the two projects to have equal traffic you want this setting to be a total of 50% in the first project.

Step 4

Now open Audience settings.

Add a Collision prevention rule and paste project 2’s ID (you find how in the picture below) in the input field and set the dropdown to ”HAS NOT BEEN RUN” and hit Save.

Project 2

Open project 2 and go directly to Audience

Notice: that for the second project you don't need to change traffic allocation for project 2 because you want 100% of the 50% the first project leave behind to be allocated to the second project.

Add a Collision prevention rule and paste project 1’s ID (you find how in the picture below) in the input field and set the dropdown to ”HAS NOT BEEN RUN” and hit Save.

IMPORTANT

When you deactivate one of the two projects you need to remove the Collision Prevention rule for the project that is still running.
